Meet Starling

Starling Michelle Preuninger became a real estate broker in 2002, though she worked with homeowners and builders in the industry previously through her own interior design / decorative painting business. Licensed in both Washington and Oregon, Starling specializes in Camas, Washougal, East Vancouver, Hockinson and Lake Oswego.

Starling mainly works in the $300,000 to 1.4 million range, with her average listing in the $500,000 to 700,000 range, but treats each transaction the same, no matter the price. With nearly two decades of real estate experience, she has expertise in all types of residential properties, but has personal experience in rental properties and also has sold some multi-family units.

Clients often describe Starling as a hard worker who will do everything she can to ensure they’re well represented when buying or selling a home. She loves helping people achieve their goals and find their dream home for their family, or help clients build their portfolio through investment properties. Starling loves meeting new people through her work as a broker, often making life-long friends in the process.

While many people left the real estate industry during the downturn of 2008, Starling instead shifted her focus and worked on a lot of short sales, foreclosures and did Broker Price Opinions (BPOs) for banks. This experience with BPOs has given her a unique skillset when with pricing and evaluating properties with current clients.

In her spare time, Starling enjoys going on short hikes or walks with her husband, spending time doing “kid things” with her granddaughters and supporting her husband and son by attending high school basketball games they coach. She loves high-end homes, so she enjoys checking out open houses or local Street of Dreams or Parade of Homes events in areas she’s traveling in.

Portland

It’s true that Portland has a lot of nicknames: The Rose City. Stumptown. Beervana. River City. Bridgetown. PDX. I think it shows the affection Portlanders have for our city. Portland is in one of the most beautiful spots in the country. We enjoy tons of year-round outdoor activities. The Cascade Mountains with their year-round skiing and snowboarding are an hour to the east and the Pacific Ocean is an hour to the west. Willamette Valley Wine Country, which is known for its world-class pinot noirs, is a short drive away. But there are plenty of reasons to stay in the city too. Powell's City of Books is an entire city block of literary fare. Forest Park and Mount Tabor are both perfect for a hike or a picnic and you can’t beat the shopping and dining in the Pearl District or the art scene on Alberta and Mississippi Avenues. Our mild climate--with warm dry summers and cool wet winters--has given rise to the farm-to-table movement in local restaurants. Salmon, pork, and beef all come from local purveyors and they pair with locally grown produce and international flavors to make Portland a foodie's dream city. Portland has one of the lowest crime rates of a major American cities and the cost of living is low compared to other West Coast cities. Homes range from historic mansions in the West Hills and restored bungalows in inner Southeast to highrise condos in the Pearl and downtown and new construction and other up and coming neighborhoods. If you’d like to learn more about Portland let us know. We’d love to show you around and help you find your perfect home.

Reviews

“Starling was amazing. We bought the house 18 months earlier, got a new job, but were afraid of losing money. Starling knew the market, so set our home at a price I previously thought was impossible to receive. She helped us clear out the house and stage it, knowing what buyers were looking for. I thought it would take months and we would need to lower the price. However, she had an open house on Saturday and sold it on Monday, just three days. We even made money even though we only owned the house less than two years. I would highly recommend Starling for a fast sell.”

“Michelle did an outstanding job of understanding our needs and leading us through the buying process. She has an incredible amount of experience in the region, and seems to have connections to everybody you can imagine. When we first began talking through certain houses we were interested in, she seemed to know the background on every neighborhood and every seller’s situation. It was like talking to a secret agent who knows everything, or knows how to find it out through her connections.”
